Vice President’s report – Pat said that Rifle was won by Duane and followed by William.  Smooth bore was won by Dave I.  Archery was won by Duane with William next.  Lori won women’s archery.  Scott Epps won guest archery.  William was first for Hawk and Knife with Dave I second.

OLD BUSINESS

Dave I brought up the Blue Match Program.  Pat said that she forwarded all the info, including the horn bids from Pete Brinkmeyer and Gerald Dukes, to Joe Crimmins, the chairman of NRLHF.  They will decide the overall prize and let us know.  We do need to make the plaques for the winners of each of the 5 events.  We have yet to receive the shingle from the Old Northwest and the Eastern.

Dave I inquired about the firewood at the Squirrel Camp.  He was informed that there was enough firewood for the Squirrel Camp.  William had said there was enough wood if it did not get too cold.  Dave I made a statement that we will need a work day in November or December.  Roger mentioned that the property was being looked at as related by William previously.  Dave I said we should have a work day prior to the Squirrel Camp.  But a number said Duane would do the mowing, and Craig and Bebe would fill in the rest.  The matter ended.  Dave I did say that the meeting would be during the Squirrel Camp from the dates, and Ron motioned to accept the Squirrel Camp as the location of the next meeting and Dave I seconded.  The ayes were unanimous except John’s nay.  It has been awhile for John.

Pat brought up the Club Rendezvous at Ochlockonee River.  She would have the budget next month.  The Rendezvous should pay for itself.   She needs 85-90 prizes, and she had 65 prizes right now.

Roger brought back the Squirrel Camp.  Craig was worn out with the Squirrel Camp, and needs our help.  John was great with the squirrel camp, but Craig and Bebe have a more involved camp.  Dave I said we will do the shooting activity.  John said clothes were not a problem for the early Squirrel Camps, and there was the dinner on Saturday.  Then the Squirrel Camp got more involved with the chili cook off and hawk and knife and archery contests.  Roger felt that more costuming, drag, would help the Squirrel Camp.  He also felt we would volunteer more.

John brought up the Tall Timbers’ Youth Hunting Field Day.  He said he, Dave I, Ron, Ken, Duane, and Jim would go.  Tall Timbers might provide .50, .45, .40, and .32 caliber balls and also caps.  They should have Pyrodex and said they will order black powder when we ordered.  They probably will provide sandwiches, and John said he would have the coffee ready to go.  John would be there at about 7:30 AM and the youth will show at 10 AM.  Ron mentioned we could hold up the balloon with stakes into the hay bale they will provide.  Dave I said he would bring the 2 tables.

Pat brought up the Nash Farm to be visited some of the club members on 10-25-08.  She said that Duane, Charlie, Bob, and her would check out the property for the layout of the range, etc.

She also said she went through the JLR website and submitted changes to Bobby Guris, who will update it with the info and pictures she provided.

Roger said that we should have the meeting in a house, and to spread the word around, we could rotate the location of the meeting.  Pat said people do much better with a consistent location.  Jan supported Pat.  Gary said we could have the meeting at a restaurant.  Ron said Dick did a good job of that for Troop 16.????Don’t know what this means……..

NEW BUSINESS

Pat said we needed a welcome letter for new members.  They do not even know if they are accepted.  Jan motioned that that matter was an Executive decision by Dave I.  Pat said we need to keep records updated, etc.  She also recommended  we should have a hospitality section or committee to send out cards or a phone call if a club member is ill or whatever.  She suggested Nancy and Nancy accepted.  Ron motioned such, and Cathy seconded. Dave I asked for a vote and the ayes were unanimous expect John who voted nay.  John is feeling better.

Dave I then said that the White Water Club is having their 30 Anniversary club rendezvous 10-9 to10-13 with $10 fee for nonmembers.  They have flush toilets and a clean up station.

Dave I asked for motion to close the meeting at 7:50 PM. Jan motioned and John seconded, and the ayes were once again unanimous.
