OLD BUSINESS

Pat went over the Blue Match Program progress.  Joe Crimmins said it was the responsibility of the Booshways to report.  That is fine but there is work to do after that.  Pat said she needs help as the school year is coming, and she said she will need to put her time on her teaching at work.  Charlie is very busy with work also.  Pat stated Jan had volunteered to help with the work, and Jan said they have had a meeting, and will have another.  Pat continued that she had got bids from Pete and Jerald Dukes of around $300 for the horn.  Unfortunately Joe Crimmins said a budget of $500 was not possible.   So, Pat continued to say that with about $300 for the horn and adding the sash, medallions, plaques, and the costs of mailing, a budget will be a problem.  Dave A said the club can start the program, and then the organization will continue the program.  Jan added that the National Rendezvous and Living History Foundation, NRLHF, has the money in the bank to afford $500 per year.  Pat said there was an article in the Muzzle Blasts that we will report.  Bob said the Booshways should report rather than us once the program gets going.  Jan claimed that the NRLHF has a responsibility to do the paperwork for the program.  Bob asked what we would do if there was no money funded for the program.  Dave A said that we can do one year with no problem.

Pat then changed the subject to the Midwestern Rendezvous.  There was rain, and the Amish came with tractors and beer.  Dave A said that is why the Amish still used horses, as the horses knew the way home after their owners finished drinking.

William said that the fire wood can wait until the fall when it is cooler, but it does need to be gathered, split, and stacked.  William also had a supply of cherry and oak that could be used for wood working for projects for the Rendezvous.  Dave A said we could have a work day in September.

Pat brought up membership in the club.  Tony Dividicus, Van and Hutch, Bradley, Epps all need to updated.  David A said Van called to get the address to send in the application.  David I said we voted Van and Hutch in when we get the money and application.  Ron said he will get with every one in the next few months to update the club records.

NEW BUSINESS

William related his family decisions about their property.  The property here would be sold.  William did not know how or when they would sell, or what part he would get.  If he gets the part where the club rendezvous occurs, the club is welcome to have the rendezvous as long as he has the property.  The sale will not be today or tomorrow, and if the club still has use of this property, liability insurance will be needed.  Dave A said that was no problem with the NMLRA insurance program.

William said more people seemed to come when we had meetings in a home as when Duane had the meetings at his house.

Dave I said we needed a short work day to put items from the rendezvous in order at the rendezvous site.  He asked that available members show up at 10 AM on the shoot day at the Rendezvous site.

Dick mentioned that Cheryl might be willing to lease some property to the club for a rendezvous site.  It is about 15 acres and may be leased for 20 years. The club should be able to shoot, but not hunt on the land.  The land is near Wacissa on the west side.  Bob thought this might be a good idea.  Dave I said a committee of Dave I, Dick, Gary, Bob, William, and Dave A would look into the matter.   The ayes were unanimous.

Pat said she needed 20 coffee cans, large, for the next rendezvous.  Bring them for the next meeting if possible.  Nancy said she would not come to another shoot until it cooled off.  Al Beasley is the Booshway for the 2009 SE Rendezvous at Nash Farms, which is just south of Atlanta, Georgia.  He needs help with the Rendezvous, and Charlie is already doing the shooting events.  Dave A, Bob, and Dave I discussed the matter.  Dave I said we need to load everything we need from our supplies here, and not depend on the Booshway.  Bob added we can carry everything up early and mark of the ranges.  Dave I noted that there is a day park there, so space to shoot may be very restrictive.  Dave A said we should go up in October and see for ourselves what we need to do.  Bob and Pat said we would do the range and what ever else we can do. Pat stated that Rita was burned out doing the gate at the last SE Rendezvous, and will not be doing the gate this time.

Jan added that Wade would be the Booshway at the SE Rendezvous for 2010 in the Yantkins Valley.  Wade said he needs help with that Rendezvous. William said he would help Wade.

Bob added that we may need to get our targets before the property was sold.  William said again there was no immediate sale pending so there was no need to hurry.

Dave I motioned to end the meeting and Cathy seconded.  The ayes were unanimous at 7:12 PM.

Bob was clean up.
