JLR September 2004 minutes (draft)

The meeting was called to order at 7:10.

Roll call:  Dave A., Charlie, Ken & Kathy Morris, John Cole, Lori, William, Terry, Jan, Gary T., Bob P., Craig, Jamie and Denise, Dave I., Jim D.

 

The August minutes were approved.

President:  no report (absent). 

V.Pres.:  no report (absent)  Dave gave shooting report (attached).

Secy.:  no report (absent)

Treas.:  Checkbook balance is the same as July.  William reported that he paid Tony Bell out of his pocket (for raffle bow held at Northeastern).  The club owes William $350.  Dave is working the newsletter and will have it out before Squirrel Camp.

Old Business:  Charlie will bring t-shirts to the club shoot.

Southeastern voo:  Charlie said there will be a meeting at Jan’s house on the 16th  at 7 P.M.  Charlie mentioned that we needed volunteers to sew bags for the SE.  The material is being cut now.  Jan requested a collection of signs to be used for the SE voo.

Squirrel camp:  William reported that BB had volunteered to head this up but will be unable to do so as his house and belongings were destroyed from hurricane Charlie.  William discussed different ways to do the shoot.  The date for squirrel camp will be Nov. 11 thru 14.  John Cole reported that camp usually falls in place.  Rendezvous activities will be scaled back.  Budget was discussed, along with number of hooters needed.  William said he had some small prizes if needed.

Workday:  Workday will be on Sept. 15 before the shoot.

Raffle at the NE brought in about $600 for the club. 

Forrest Boone and Philip Stone came to the meeting (friends of Bobby Guris) to recruit volunteers to help with Big Bend Youth Outdoor Program which will be Oct. 9 at Tallahassee Timbers.  John Cole made a motion for the club to participate and Dave seconded it.  John Cole volunteered to be point person. Dave and Bob P. volunteered to help.

New Business:  Charlie talked about updating range officer program.  He has list of members and has forms to renew.  Forms were passed out.

Craig Engle reported on BB’s loss due to the hurricane.  He lost his house and belonging from hurricane Charlie.  BB may need some help in the future setting up house again.

Jan reported a friend also lost some property in the hurricane.

Ken and Kathy Morris did clean-up.
